European artists

The greatest European painters and sculptors of the 20th century : Picasso, Matisse, Mondrian and Schwitters. Picasso’s great power comes from his Mediterranean polytheistic nature. It allowed him to grasp the essence of African art for example. Matisse, essentially Catholic, made one of his greatest works in the Chapelle du Rosaire de Vence. Mondrian attempted to assimilate what we call today the Vajrayana path but was constrained by the limited version of it available at the time. Schwitters was a great German primitive like the later Joseph Beuys.
